Making the decision to start therapy can be a vulnerable experience for some people. It is my goal to ensure that you feel safe and supported on your journey. I draw on several modalities to help you find the best solution for your mental health and well-being.
Whether I am working with families, or with individuals to help them better understand their family dynamics, it is important that we understand how our family of origin has impacted our personality, relationship skills, and outlook on the world.

Mindfulness is an important aspect of therapy that helps to cultivate an attitude of curiosity and a non-judgmental approach to both ourselves and others. Mindfulness practices have been shown to improve physical and mental health, reduce stress, increase focus and decrease reactivity.
Working with the body is an integral part of healing. Working with the nervous system to help explore trauma and patterns of dysregulation, help to ease emotional and physical symptoms associated with mental health and trauma.
I take a science informed approach when it comes to working with trauma, starting with a comprehensive assessment, followed by using a combination of some or all of the modalities listed on this page. Many clients have struggled to process trauma through talk therapy. It is my goal to help clients understand how trauma is stored in the brain and body and how to access and gently process trauma through different modalities. Nervous system mapping involves teaching a client to understand how their nervous system has responded and adapted to stress and trauma. This involves: The adaptive responses of their nervous system; understanding stress hormones and neurotransmitters related to health; moods and trauma containment; grounding skills; identifying and managing triggers and managing mood and arousal levels using polyvagal theory and other somatic practices that utilize the wisdom of the body to heal trauma.
